Scouting for Whitetail Deer Signs

Food Plots-Scouting for Whitetail Deer Signs

Serious hunters have scouted for whitetail deer signs for many years.  What is a deer sign? Well, most of the time it is any natural indication in their habitat that displays the fact that whitetails are frequenting the area. Usually deer signs consist of tracks, trails, scrapes, rubs and deer waste. Why are these things important? If you want to be successful in hunting season, it is important to determine exactly where the deer live, feed, water and sleep.  Even if the area that you hunt or live is loaded down with plenty of deer you might want to scout for signs of a nice Buck. This site is dedicated to the development of deer food plots but sometime if you scout around you can also find natural food plots, that take no effort, they are provided by mother nature and are the best way to find and chase whitetail. I have provided a terrific video below by a guy that I think is awesome! It has some great tips for scouting deer and I love his enthusiasm with absolutely no product promotion. It’s just good information. And, I bet this guy has laid down a pile of whitetails in his day. I wish that he had mentioned scapes and rubs but I think he has some other videos which I will check and see if they are quality also. I will likely display some blog links from around the Internet to help you with you whitetail deer scouting signs.
